Those who had seen my dog or even pictures of my dog would know that his soulful eyes can melt the hardest and coldest of all hearts. However recently a trip to the groomer left his eyes red and swollen… and it is really heart breaking to hear his whines of pain when I added eye drops in an effort to reduce his swelling eyes.

Here is how the story goes. It is the weekend just after Christmas. I made an appointment with the groomer (PLC) at Simei Pet Safari. Muffin has been there a few times and services there had been satisfactory. However this time when I collect him, I notice that he was squinting in his left eye. I though he was having some irritation and that the irritations would go away after he sleeps for a while. Thus, I did not make much fuss at the pet shop, paid my money and brought Muffin home.

Muffin went home and curl up and sleep immediately. In the evening when he woke up, I had a shock as his left eye was so swollen that he could no longer open his eye lid. I tried to pry open his eye to find out what was wrong and I say the reddest eye ever. Dripping eye drops into his affected eye made him howl and whine with such ferocity and it threatens to tear apart our hearts.

Me and my wife panicked and started scouring the net for a 24 hour clinic. But as it was late into the evening and during the holiday season, I could not find a hospital to treat Muffin without burning a deep hole in my pocket. SIGH … without a better alternative, I applied cold compression on the exterior of his eye and keeps dripping eye drops into his affected eye. MY heart was constantly torn apart with his pitiful whining.

The next day I straight away brought him to see the vet clinic nearest my place (under management of Mount Pleasant), which happens to open on a Sunday. After an hour of waiting, the vet diagnosed that poor Muffin had a big ulcer on his cornea The size of the ulcer was about two thirds his eye. The ulcer was likely to be caused by an impact on his eye by a foreign object or friction between his cornea and a foreign object. Luckily the injury was superficial if not his eyeball could have rupture.

So now Muffin is currently the one-eye pirate and recuperating at home. Hope he recover soon.

This is Muffin just before grooming.
And this is Muffin with his red and swollen eye.

Xmas is definitely around the corner … you can hear it, see it and maybe even feel it … The shops have began their yearly Xmas decorations … maybe not as lavish as few years back .. but the decorations and lightings are definitely up. Every where you go, shops are blasting away songs that you will only hear during this festive period .. Sounds of bells jingling, songs like Rudoff the red nose rein deer etc are finding themselves on the air after a 11 months cold storage. And last of all, you may even start to feel the pinch in you wallets as you start to go around buying gifts for your dear friends or for the annual gifts exchange …BUT personally there is something seriously missing… for me at least ….. the festive MOOD…

Yes I can see the decorations and hear the songs … but the mood is not there … thanks to a certain MLM company … stupid company with stupid compensation plans all set to ruin my Xmas mood big time. Have been working hard trying to unravel the mysteries of the numerous inter-companies’ transactions, the ubiquitous yet completely baffling compensation plans …. and the list goes on and on …

Yea well … as you can see .. I do not have a general good impression of MLM companies … Passive income is well and good … but to earn it at the expense of others … nope .. that is not for me. The only form of passive income I can accept is you owning a big company and people work for you and you pay them wages … For MLM … you gain $ but there is no cost on your part … to me that sounds very very dodgy indeed.

Well … enough about the company … back to xmas … I was out shopping last weekend when I started to get a little bit trigger happy .. (with a SLR you cannot help but be trigger happy I guess) Here is the loot .. a picture load of Xmas trees …. And if I cannot make it on time for my next blog … Merry Xmas !! Yea I know it is a bit too early … but high chance I will not have the chance to blog again before Dec 25 .. Enff talk .. enjoy the pics ..

This is my favorite tree … the most dazzling and not to mention the most expensive. Introducing the crystal Xmas tree
